Arup’s aims influence more than just our day-to-day work – they inspire us to look for greater outcomes from everything we do.
mg真人游戏Our community engagement programme is ‘social usefulness’ in action. Whether it is initiatives to combat homelessness, improve sanitation in disaster relief programmes, or disaster recovery after earthquakes, we are always looking for ways to improve the lives of those most in need.
Humanitarianism implies a social conscience, a wish to do socially useful work, and to join hands with others fighting for the same values. ”Sir Ove Arup Founder

Responding to disaster
mg真人游戏Our Disaster Response and Recovery programme provides on-the-ground support to humanitarian organisations. We help them to repair and create shelter and other important infrastructure in areas affected by disasters. Natural and man-made disasters have a habit of exposing the shortcomings of our world, so we try to ensure that the rebuilding process becomes a chance to improve an area’s resilience.
Our community engagement work is largely driven by our people’s ideas and the needs they encounter in their own communities. This ensures our contribution is relevant and meaningful, based on real needs.
“ We worked with local responders to help balance the urgency to demolish unsafe buildings with the need to recover things for the community. ” Francisco Pavia Senior Civil EngineerRead about our work in Ecuador
